I had a wonderful experience with Dr Carnevale. He was extremely informative, and kind. He took the time to explain in detail what he was looking for during my MRI and MRA, making sure I understood the purpose of the tests and what he was evaluating. He never made me feel rushed and answered my questions with care and patience. His professionalism, knowledge, and compassionate manner made me feel comfortable and reassured. Doctor Joseph  Carnevale has to be one of the best doctors  i have ever had. He performed back surgery on me. My surgery was 100 % successful  and the manner of his disposition is professional and friendly as well .  He checked up on me in the hospital many times to see how i was feeling, which was a great thing for me because this was my 1st surgery ever. He was kind and was very explanatory about the operation and procedures. Everything went absolutely  amazing . I can honestly say I do not even feel like I just had surgery on my l5 lumbar.  2 weeks later and I'm back to work in the autobody industry.  As for his assistant team and office, they were also very friendly and helpful, professional but also friendly! 5 out of 5 stars - would def recommend! From start to finish, he made a terrifying experience feel manageable and even reassuring. First, the surgery itself was a success. I'm incredibly grateful for his skill and expertise. What really stood out was his communication skills. He took the time to explain everything clearly to me and my family, even sketching out a diagram of my brain so we could understand exactly what was going on and what the procedure would involve. That level of care helped calm our nerves during a really stressful time. He is also a genuinely kind and personable doctor. I was scared right before going into the OR, and he took a moment to help me calm down. He even took my requests into consideration and cared about how much hair he shaved off :). At my follow-up appointment, he was warm and easygoing, and even let me keep my staples. If you're looking for a neurosurgeon who combines technical skill with genuine compassion, look no further. Dr. Joseph Carnevale is truly exceptional. He was so kind and patient with my dad, taking his time to explain everything clearly. I was helping over the phone, and he never rushed us. Doctor Carnevale repeated anything we didn’t understand and made sure we felt completely comfortable. I highly recommend him. He’s not only an excellent doctor, but also a genuinely good human being. On July 18, 2025 I had a stroke and was rushed to Mountainside Medical Center. Thankfully Dr. Carnevale was available to perform  peripheral vascular surgery which made it possible for me to function again.  It's been a struggle relearning how to speak and communicate.  Without Dr. Carnevale's procedure, I would not be able to write this review.  Not only is he an amazing surgeon, he is a compassionate physician.  He spent time with my wife to explain the procedure and what to expect after surgery.  To Dr. Carnevale and his team, thank you so much for giving me my life back.
