New Jersey Brain and Spine Launches $2000 Healthcare Scholarship to Support Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals

Investing in the future of healthcare: Annual scholarship open to high school and undergraduate students from or attending school in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania

PARAMUS, N.J., October 6, 2025 — New Jersey Brain and Spine (NJBS), one of the region’s leading neurosurgical practices, today announced the launch of their NJBS Healthcare Scholarship, a $2,000 inaugural award designed to support the next generation of healthcare professionals. The scholarship is open to high school seniors and undergraduate students from or currently attending school in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania who are pursuing careers in healthcare-related fields. Applications are open now through April 10, 2026 at njbrainspine.com/njbs-healthcare-scholarship

The scholarship reflects NJBS’s commitment to advancing healthcare not only through exceptional patient care but also by investing in future medical professionals who will shape the field for years to come. At a time of nationwide healthcare workforce shortages, NJBS sees this program as a way to help develop the next generation of providers dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care.

“At New Jersey Brain and Spine, our mission extends beyond treating patients today. We are dedicated to ensuring exceptional healthcare continues for future generations,” said Dr. Patrick Roth, founding neurosurgeon at NJBS. “This scholarship represents our investment in passionate students who share our commitment to improving patient care and advancing medical innovation.”

To apply, students must submit a completed application form, proof of enrollment, and an essay of 500-750 words addressing the prompt: “What do you see as one of the biggest challenges in healthcare today, and how do you hope to address it in your career to improve patient care? Share how a personal experience has shaped your perspective.”

“We’re looking for students who demonstrate not only academic promise, but also a genuine passion for healthcare and a thoughtful understanding of the challenges facing our industry,” said Amanda Haro, Chief Marketing Officer at NJBS. “This scholarship allows us to support young people who are committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives.”

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of NJBS physicians and administrators, with essays evaluated based on relevance to the prompt, originality, authenticity, commitment to a healthcare career, and clarity of writing. The recipient will be selected based on overall application strength and alignment with NJBS’s mission of advancing healthcare through exceptional patient care.
